Description
1. Examine thesis and dissertation projects and give an opinion on their relevance and methodological quality.
2. Appoint a thesis rapporteur who decides on the scientific quality of the work and gives his opinion to the Theses and Dissertations Committee.
3. Validate the defense files of theses and dissertations which must meet the recommendations of the medical editorial staff and follow the instructions of the faculty.
4. Submit to the Dean the composition of the jury.
5. Validation of the imprimatur files after checking the corrections on the final copy of the thesis or dissertation and transmitting to the Dean the authorization of the printing.
6. Organize teaching in clinical research methodology and medical writing intended for thesis directors and doctoral students in order to contribute to improving the methodological and editorial quality of theses and dissertations and to promote their publication.
7. Constitute a mediation body in the event of a conflict between a thesis director and a doctoral student
Objective
1. Implementation of a digital, table and secure platform, in French, extensible, via :
– Simplify the procedures of the administrative route by avoiding the candidates multiple back and forth.
– Facilitate the work of the members of the Theses and Dissertations Committee.
– Allow a visualization of the work position in its administrative processing cycle (traceability), the absence of redundancy of scientific work, exploitation of the large database and the carrying out of statistical studies.
2. Evaluate to better evolve:
– The status of doctoral theses in Medicine in all disciplines
– The state of dissertations elaborate as part of continuous professional development and the equivalence of foreign diplomas.
Previous events
1- Review of thesis and dissertation procedures and development of evaluation grids.
2- Dispensation from 2012-2013 to 2018-2019 of 28 training workshop seminars in « Research methodology and medical writing » for supervisors and candidates
3- Evaluation of training in « Research methodology and medical writing » having been the subject of a thesis work.
4- In collaboration with the Library Committee, training on the use of the PUBMED database, on the use of the COCHRANE database, on the use of the ZOTERO bibliographic management software and on the use of the Word word processing software
5- Dispensing of three thesis evaluation seminars for teachers of body A.
6- Dispensation of three seminars-workshops of supervision to the « Writing of an original article from a thesis or a dissertation »
7- Dispensing of two training workshops seminars in medical writing at Jendouba hospital within the framework of Social Responsibility.
Future projects
Concretize the computerization project of the Theses and Dissertations Committee, strengthen the activities of the Committee and evaluate them.
