1964

The Faculty of Medicine of Tunis was created in 1964 and started teaching in October 1964 with fifty nine students enrolled in the first year. The courses took place at the start in premises borrowed from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis, then in specific premises  to the FMT from January 1965. They were two pavilions of the Charles Nicolle hospital long called Pavilion I and Pavilion II.

1973

Faculty of Medicine was individualized with administrative premises and an amphitheater with 300 seats called Pavilion III in 1968. and very quickly, in 1973 there were two new amphitheatres with 400 seats each called Pavilion IV and V. Practical work continued to take place in Pavilions I and II.

2002

It was in 2001/2002 and with the financial assistance of the quatar emirates that the new premises of the Faculty were built. The inauguration took place on October 28, 2002.

2010

For the 2009/2010 academic year, 3,065 students spread over the 5 years regularly follow their studies, not counting  interns and residents. The number of interns in 1st and 2nd year is 775.

2019

For the 2018/2019 academic year, 5,934 students divided between PCEM, DCEM and TCEM.
