Premises

On an area of 270 m2, the UME-FMT includes a meeting and course room, a secretariat, a cloakroom, three small animal accommodation rooms, a short-term accommodation room for medium-sized animals , four manipulation rooms, an operating theater with a preparation and anesthesia room, a laundry / store room and an incineration room. A ventilation and air conditioning system allows air renewal and automatic regulation of the room temperature. The meeting and manipulation rooms are connected to the computer network. The operating theater and the manipulation rooms have a medical gas circuit (O2, N2O).

Equipements

Basic equipment for experimentation (anesthesia, fixation, sampling, monitoring, surgery) is made available to users at the UME-FMT by:

• The Faculty of Medicine of Tunis (acquisition and recovery of reformed equipment)
• Research Units of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis (pharmacology, biophysics, physiology, histo-embryology)
• Hospital institutions (Charles Nicolle Hospital, Salah Azaiez Institute, Habib Thameur Hospital, Tunis Maternity and Neonatology Center)
